GrindHouse Transport & Rentals is based in Killeen, right beside the Fort Cavazos area, and rents self-drive passenger vans to military groups and families. You drive. We keep the van ready and the terms plain, because the last thing anyone needs during a busy week is a rental counter surprise.
Unit events and family days
A unit event usually means a headcount, a start time and a parking plan. One van takes a dozen or more people in a single vehicle, which removes the question of who is following whom and where everyone parks.
This works for family days, organizational days, volunteer events and group trips to a ceremony or a ballgame. The person organizing can put one line in the group chat with the time and the meeting point instead of collecting drivers.
PCS moves and family visits
A PCS is a logistics exercise. Somebody is clearing housing or signing for a new place, and relatives are arriving to help. A passenger van keeps the family together for the drive and leaves the truck free for the household goods.
The same van covers a family visit where the guests outnumber the cars. That happens often here, and it is the reason a lot of our customers are households rather than organizations.
Sports, schools and church groups
The Killeen area has youth leagues, church groups and school teams that travel together, and a rented van is often simpler than a carpool roster. Those bookings are quoted individually, which keeps the pricing matched to the actual trip.
What the vans cost and what the terms are
The Ford Transit passenger van is $179.00 per day. The E-350 High-Roof 15-passenger van is $249.00 per day, and the high roof is a real advantage when people are boarding with duffel bags and gear.
Both are non-CDL passenger vans. The rental is self-drive, so the driver comes from your group.
Mileage is 200 free miles per day, then $0.75 per mile. Unlimited mileage is available on request.
The security deposit is a refundable card hold taken at pickup, not a charge. It is $250 for the Transit and $500 for the E-350. Out-of-state trips require larger holds: $500 for the Transit and $1,000 for the E-350. No money leaves your account unless there is damage, loss or a late return.
The van comes back with a full tank, or market rate for fuel applies plus a $25 fee. There is a $75 cleaning fee per rental.
Free up to 7 days before pickup. Between 72 hours and 7 days, you pay the greater of 50% of the first day’s rate or $100. Inside 72 hours, a no-show or an early return gets no refund, but 100% converts into a 12-month reservation credit.
Booking around a busy schedule
Book at least 24 hours before pickup. Pickup and return run weekdays 9AM to 5PM, and weekend pickups or returns are allowed if they are booked during business hours. Vehicles are collected in Killeen.
If your dates sit around a field exercise, a block leave period or a report date, book as early as you can. We do not promise availability on short notice.
